Dear Members and Friends of the European Association for Banking and Financial Law,

AEDBF Europe and AEDBF Luxembourg are organizing an international colloquium on Thursday 5 May 2022 in Luxembourg under the title “The evolution of banking and financial regulation under the effect of customer protection rules”.

Given the evolution of the notion of “customer”, banking and financial law must find a balance between its objective of regulating the market while guaranteeing the protection of individuals, in particular senior customers, substantially affected by the digitization of the banking and financial sector.

In the aftermath of the legislation on the protection of the “financial client”, new perspectives are emerging, particularly with regard to green and sustainable finance, the protection of financial clients through collective actions, and lead to questions about the project of the Capital Markets Union and its implications in private law.

The quality and experience of the high-level speakers will highlight the importance of these new regulations for the protection of the financial client.
A cocktail will close this conference, a new opportunity to meet AEDBF members from various European countries.

This event will be the subject of an audio and video recording in particular with a view to being broadcast live on the Internet in order to allow as many people as possible to attend (recording and broadcasting agreement accessible on this link).
