Please reserve the date of Friday 30 November 2018 in your agenda. AEDBF Europe and AEDBF/EVBFR Belgium jointly organise an international colloquium on “Currencies”.
The scientific comitee of AEDBF Europe has prepared a program that will allow you to hear experts from different European countries, who will share with you their legal analysis on traditional and new currencies. The examination of the legal characteristics and the economic and cultural role of currency as a legal instrument of payment, will be followed by the analysis of the inevitable phenomenon of cryptocurrencies and of the growing interest in local currencies. What is the legal characterization of those alternative currencies and what is the supervising authorities’ position on this subject? The colloquium will be introduced by Jan Smets, governor of the National Bank of Belgium.
Please also note that in the evening there will be a festive dinner on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of AEDBF, a unique opportunity to meet members of AEDBF from different european countries.
